Our Center

Ferry Hill, our flagship center, is the JPH community’s first project and a sanctuary where history, nature, and connection come together. Nestled on nine acres of protected land along the South River, once part of one of Marshfield’s original farm families, Ferry Hill is home to trails, gardens, and wildlife, offering a place for exploration, learning, and growth. Every repair, every garden planted, and every trail restored is a shared effort that strengthens our bonds as a community. Supporting Ferry Hill means helping preserve this historic, vibrant retreat center and ensuring it remains a place of healing, connection, and belonging for generations to come.

Hear From Our Community

"The night I walked into JPH for the first time, I released a breath I didn’t know I was holding.

The feeling of acceptance, welcome and true desire to help was overwhelming, in the best way. I felt like I had figured out a part that I had been missing on my wellness journey.

It’s not often that you get to give as much as you receive, but at JPH that’s the case. I can be attending a deeply moving, nourishing program that speaks to my soul one night, and the next be a welcoming face at the front door for others, it’s a true gift to feel like I am giving back some of what I am taking at JPH."

Hear From Our Community

"Following the suggestion of a friend, I “popped in” to this beautiful barn and surrounding landscape known as JPH in August 2024. I immediately felt embraced by staff and attendees and have continued to participate in programs and volunteer on a regular basis.

JPH has offered me the opportunity to try a variety of modalities including; meditation, sound bowl therapy, reiki, yoga (for trauma), acupuncture, reiki, grounding …..all of which have greatly contributed to my healing process. Walking this journey with new friends and celebrating at the Women’s Recovery Dinner once per month is amazing."

Hear From Our Community

"JPH at Ferry Hill is doing amazing work focused on family wellness, including teen wellness retreats, recovery programs, parent support groups, trauma support retreats, and the list keeps growing.

I’m proud to volunteer my time there and am receiving wonderful community connection in return."

Hear From Our Community

"JPH Organization has given me a space to connect with other parents and participate in events that alleviate anxiety and stress, allowing me to be more effective in all aspects of my life.
Life can get so busy that when you finally stop, it's easy to feel lonely and disconnected from the world. JPH offers a space where you can find and connect with people who lift you up and remind you that you're not alone.

It’s movement like this that will continue to help and support mental health in communities and the practitioners providing that support. As a therapist, I can speak firsthand to the increased need for mental health support and the struggle people in my community are having finding providers who don’t already have a full case load, or finding providers who take their insurance."

Hear From Our Community

"The James P. Harrington Organization provides our community with something largely unavailable. It serves as a place to surrender pain, to unabashedly reveal oneself, and to be accepted fully. There is no hierarchy of care. No matter the sustenance of your story, love abounds and is yours to accept. This is where you come to be heard, and to be seen. This is where you come to heal. And along the way, you have the humbling opportunity to heal others. It is in that exchange that community is built, and the foundation of hope solidifies."
