We were honored to host The Dragon Dinner, an event that highlighted our SHARED COMMITMENT to community and healing. This gathering served as a meaningful reminder of our mission to support and uplift those in need.
This year, in honor of the Year of the Dragon, we unveiled a special artistic creation—a majestic dragon in a hanging art installation that will adorn our historic barn. In many cultures, the dragon symbolizes strength and resilience, offering hope and transformation during challenging times. This emblem of strength aligned perfectly with our mission to offer support and guidance to those facing their darkest moments.
OUR MISSION is to provide equitable mental health programs that bridge critical gaps in care. With one in five adults experiencing mental health issues each year, and nearly half of those struggling not receiving the help they need, our work is MORE CRUCIAL THAN EVER. We strive to ensure that all individuals, regardless of their financial situation, have access to the support they need. A supportive community is vital in addressing these challenges, and your participation helps make this possible.
This level of support will address our most urgent capital need: renovating our certified kitchen. This kitchen is crucial to our financial sustainability, as it enables us to host events at JPH. It serves as the heart of our building and the centerpiece of our women’s workforce culinary program. Through this program, participants gain valuable job skills while actively contributing to the JPH community
For women overcoming trauma, culinary training offers hands-on experience that builds confidence and essential job skills while providing a supportive community. The culinary field’s diverse opportunities and nurturing environment make it a transformative path for personal and professional growth.
This support will fund essential upgrades to our respite cottage, which is used for crisis meetings and as a retreat for community members facing trauma and mental health challenges. The 3-bedroom cottage, originally built as a caretaker’s home, requires significant repairs. We need to address exterior issues, including a new roof, siding, trim, and drainage, as well as upgrade the outdated HVAC system. These improvements are crucial to maintaining the cottage as a safe and functional space for those in crisis. Enhancing this facility will ensure it continues to support and serve the community effectively.
This support will enhance our horticulture and gardening team's efforts on our 9+ acres at the Ferry Hill property, where they find healing through their work. Our long-term vision includes growing food to assist community members experiencing food insecurity and establishing a seasonal farm stand. Additionally, we aim to offer farm-to-table community meals and create opportunities for both adults and youth to find peace and purpose through the beautification of our property. These initiatives will foster community well-being and provide meaningful engagement with the land.
This support will fund essential repairs and improvements to our art studio, which serves as both a therapeutic space for art programs and a workforce classroom. The studio hosts year-round therapeutic art programs for adults and youth, community art projects, and special event design.
We need to install new windows, add an art project station and sink, update art tables and supplies, and upgrade the restroom. These enhancements will ensure the studio remains a functional and inspiring environment for creative expression and workforce training.
This level of support would help provide supplies and personnel for our workforce development program in the culinary department. Our community members find great purpose in giving back to JPH and our culinary and events training program helps prepare our volunteers for the workforce. Our partner Transition Solutions, with experience in job search support & placement, will help to secure long-term employment for our program participants.
This support will fund a mental health education class for a group in crisis, offered in your name. It will provide essential guidance and support to those in urgent need. Your contribution will make a meaningful difference in their lives.
