The ultimate goal at JPH is that members get to a place in their lives where they feel whole and supported. We focus on four distinct pathways of wellness that community members have traveled along during our formative time. Those pathways have developed into the core of our programs and activities. We welcome all seeking a sense of belonging, a community and wellness. We honor your personal journey and respect your choice to find the path that works for you.
Learn how all areas of your life are interconnected.
Awaken to a shift to a more
conscious way of living.
Discover a future where pain is transformed into power.
Honor individuality and grow in self-love.
Whole Health Wellness is the entire picture of our community's health. It stems from our roots and radiates to our minds, body, and souls. Those that seek to become more whole work on various areas of their lives and their health systems knowing that every root, branch, and leaf is interconnected.
At JPH, we have a goal of collaboratively defining a picture of wellness and whole health. We will do that by surveying our community and our members to find out what the barriers are to being well and what the common struggles are for our community. Our wellness team is actively working on programming that supports a community in becoming balanced, at peace and connected to others on the same journey.
People are awakening to a shift to a more conscious way of living. The desire to become free of dependency and unhealthy relationships with addictions of any kind is prompting change.
JPH supports our community in recovery. We recognize that the recovery journey is an uphill battle for those struggling with any type of addiction. The family also climbs that mountain because recovery is not limited to just the individual, it is broader than that.
We are community that seeks to break the barrier of shame surrounding the need for recovery. A family need not hide in the shadow of this challenge. Our community provides an open and non-anonymous recovery community model where recovering individuals and families are no longer left in isolation. We embed recovery support throughout our community to normalize this for everyone.
JPH supports our community recovering from emotional pain. It is inevitable that in life, an individual or family will encounter a situation or circumstance that causes great emotional pain. We strongly believe that these experiences are what strengthens people and should be looked at as the badges of a warrior rather than a deficit or negative part of self or the family. When we take the stance of looking at these hardships as pathways to being more powerful, we as individuals, as families and as a community become stronger and more empowered.
We also believe that every hardship endured and navigated becomes the pathway for another in our community to follow. JPH provides supportive programming to complement our community members' outside work on their challenges. Emotional recovery is always possible when we chose to persevere, and the gift of that perseverance is power.
The JPH organization was inspired by the journey of a unique young man named James Harrington who struggled in life to find community connections that would support him through difficult and challenging times. He needed a purpose driven and supportive community where he was accepted for all his diverse abilities and unique traits. Had he found a community that could provide support, opportunity to contribute and feel part of, along with programming that interested him and gave him a structure for wellness he might have made it through adulthood.
We believe that a community can only thrive and be a representation of the world outside if it chooses to embrace the uniqueness of all their members. The journey of acceptance begins with self. We can no longer live in a box that we do not fit into. Finding and accepting our authentic selves is paramount to feeling whole and having the ability to accept others for who they are and where they are in their journey. Self love and self acceptance are necessary to feel whole.
